'They had dreams, hopes, just like every one of us': Keith Urban closes Tampa show with a tearful rendition of U2's One to pay tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting

It's been ten days since a gunman opened fire on revellers at an Orlando gay nightclub, killing 49 people and injuring 53 more.

And as Keith Urban closed his show in fellow Floridian city Tampa on Friday, he paid a tearful and loving tribute to the victims of America's deadliest mass shooting.

Without the backing of his band, the 48-year-old country singer played a soulful rendition of U2's 1992 hit One as his final song.

'Before we go, I want to say one thing that's been on my heart for the last week,' he told the crowd.

'I know we've got a lot of folks here from Orlando tonight, and although I didn't know anybody in that horrific incident, I did.

'They're just guys and girls, brothers and sisters, they had dreams, hopes, plans, just like every one of us, so I know them like I know you,' he finished before lightly strumming the opening chords.
