Former SNP council leader found guilty of sex assaults against five young men
Former SNP council boss Jordan Linden has been found guilty of sexually assaulting five young men - one as young as 17 - and sexually harassing a 14 year old boy. Once a rising star in the SNP , the 30-year-old from Bellshill was found guilty of 10 charges by a jury at Falkirk Sheriff Court, following a seven-day trial. He will now have to wait until he is sentenced in May to find out if he will be jailed for his crimes, which occurred over a decade, from 2011 to 2021. Linden, a former leader of North Lanarkshire Council, showed no emotion as the panel of seven men and eight women delivered their verdicts.

Thumbs up for McCartney's Highland home?
Stella McCartney is set for a massive win after planners recommended her bid to build a £5million luxury Highland mansion be given the green light. McCartney, 54, and her husband, Alasdhair Willis, hope to build a secluded house at Commando Rock, in Glenuig, on the Moidart peninsula. The application, which is in her 54-year-old husband's name, will go before Highland councillors next week for a final decision. But a council document said: 'It is considered the proposal accords with the principles and policies contained within the development plan and is acceptable in terms of all other applicable material considerations.' The plans have attracted scores of objections from locals and environmental experts. An otter survey requested by the couple confirmed the presence of holts near the site.

For long enough now, finding lasting peace in the Middle East has often seemed easier than getting the big nobs of Scottish football to make some proper decisions for the greater good.
