It was a mystery that gripped Britain and left the nation asking: How could a mother vanish without trace? Police insisted she had fallen into the river. But family and friends remained sceptical and continued appealing for anyone with information about her to come forward. As her case made headlines, it attracted social media video-makers who visited the area and disrupted the investigation by promoting false speculation and rumours. Her body was eventually found in the river, around a mile downstream from where she had disappeared just over three weeks earlier.
