Charlie's Angels star Jaclyn Smith, 80, will spill about Farrah Fawcett and the wild '70s in her first tell-all memoir
Jaclyn Smith made a major announcement on Thursday.
The 80-year-old Hollywood actress will be writing a memoir called I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie.
The book will be all about her rise to fame and focus on the years she played Kelly Garrett, one the female investigators at the Townsend Agency, on Charlie's Angels.
Her costars were Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts as well as David F Doyle and John Forsythe.
The series premiered 50 years ago in September 1976 and remained on the air through June 1981. Smith was on all five seasons of the series.
Smith, who is also a fashion designer, will share the 'behind-the-scenes story of the origin and making of the iconic show,' a press release said.
The memoir will be released this fall from Gallery Books.

Before Charlie's Angels she was a dancer on Broadway and a model then she graduated to commercials for Max Factor and Breck shampoo.
Then, she became one of the first celebrities to design their own clothing line as she partnered with K-Mart.
'While balancing acting and entrepreneurship, and bravely facing breast cancer, she also found love and raised two beloved children,' according to the book's official synopsis.
I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie will be 'intimate, honest and down-to-earth' and 'tells the life story of an accomplished woman who has inspired generations of Angels who have come after her.'
I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie is on sale on Sept. 8, 2026 and available now for preorder, wherever books are sold.

This comes after news Smith, Ladd and Jackson will reunite live on stage.
This will be their first public reunion in decades for the 50th anniversary celebration as they will discuss the impact the series had on their lives.
The event will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on April 6 at 7:30 PM.

Ladd, 74, joined Jackson, 77, and Smith in 1977 when she was cast on the hit series during its second season to replace Farrah Fawcett and remained on it until its cancellation in 1981.
Smith, who played Kelly Garrett on Charlie's Angels, was the only actress to remain on the series for all five years until the show came to a close in 1981. She appeared in all 110 episodes of the show.
In 2003 she revisited Charlie's Angels by appearing in the film with Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz. And she also popped in the latest film version from director Elizabeth Banks, which was a shock bomb at the box office.
Ladd played Fawcett's character's younger sister Kris Munroe on Charlie's Angels.
She got her start as a model and on guest appearances on shows such as The Rookies, The Partridge Family, Police Woman, The Muppet Show, Search and Happy Days.
Her film roles include Purple Hearts (1984), Millennium (1989), Poison Ivy (1992), Permanent Midnight (1998), and Unforgettable (2017).

She is also a singer and performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl XIV in January 1980, and releasing three albums.
Cheryl married fellow actor David Ladd (son of actor Alan Ladd) in 1973 and they divorced in 1980. They have a daughter, actress Jordan Ladd.
Ladd has been married to music producer Brian Russell since 1981 and has a stepdaughter, Lindsay Russell.
Jackson played Sabrina Duncan on Charlie's Angels from 1976 until 1979.
She was also Amanda King in the series Scarecrow and Mrs. King (1983–1987).
Her film roles include Making Love (1982) and Loverboy (1989). Jackson was also in Dark Shadows (1970–1971), Bonanza (1972), and The Rookies (1972–1976).
