Tragedy as AFL star's brother is found dead after desperate search: 35-year-old became a dad just months ago

The search for the brother of Adelaide Crows star Jordan Dawson has come to a tragic end.

Jaryd Dawson, 35, was found dead on Wednesday afternoon after his wife made a desperate plea for help finding him once he went missing at around 2.30pm on Tuesday after last being seen in Robe, about 300km south of Adelaide.

Emergency services workers have been deployed to retrieve his body, according to News Corp.

'There are no suspicious circumstances,' South Australia Police said in a statement.

Dawson's wife Jessica issued a desperate plea on Instagram and Facebook on Wednesday morning, asking anyone with information to reach out.

'If anyone has heard from Jaryd since around 2.30pm yesterday please please let us know,' she wrote. 

Jordan Dawson's wife Milly also shared the post.

It is understood that his car and phone were found prior to confirmation of his death.

The Crows playing group was informed of the disappearance on Wednesday morning. 

Jaryd and Jessica were married in late 2024 before welcoming their first child together, Hudson Ronald, in September.

The father-of-one was also the co-founder of Domus Design & Build, a building company based in Robe.

In a statement sent to the Daily Mail earlier on Wednesday, SA Police confirmed they and emergency services are currently searching for a 35-year-old man in Robe.

Crows coach Matthew Nicks was asked by a scrum of journalists about the developing situation in his weekly press conference on Wednesday.

'(Jordan) Dawson won't train for personal reasons,' Nicks told reporters.

Jaryd Dawson was also a talented footballer.

He was vice-captain of the Robe Roosters reserve-grade side and played in the 2025 Mid South Eastern Football League grand final after getting called up to A grade.
