And speaking to the latest issue of OK!, the Strictly judge, 55, admits he's finally found his soulmate in Jonathan, 35.

So happy: Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel-Horwood has confirmed his engagement boyfriend Jonathan Myring

'There’s such comfort in knowing you have somebody that loves you and wants to spend the rest of their life with you,' he said. 'I feel like I have someone who has my back and I’ve got theirs.'

Reflecting on Jonathan's proposal, the straight talking Strictly star admitted his partner got down on one knee as they took a dip in a salt bath while holidaying in Australia.

'I said, "Absolutely not!" he joked. 'And then I said, "Oh, alright then, I’ve changed my mind."

'I thought it was really sweet, actually, because Jonathan just said, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

'It was absolutely perfect. I would much rather be in a bubble bath with champagne than climbing up a mountain to a waterfall anyway.'

Speaking in November, Craig admitted he was keen to tie the knot with Jonathan as the couple prepared to spend their first Christmas together.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘I honestly hope Jonathan and I will get married. But there won’t be any children — that’s a step too far!’

However Craig admitted that he doesn't want a glossy, expensive wedding with high profile friends, preferring instead an intimate ceremony with loved ones.

Speaking to the Mirror in 2019, he said:  'I don't want a splashy magazine wedding with celebrities. I'd rather just do it as a couple, keeping it to the people we know and love and trust.

'All our friends are asking, "Are you going to get married?" But I'm far too busy next year. One day though – Jonathan is my soulmate, he's the man I want to be with for the rest of my life.'

Derailed: 'It was a slight disaster really, I had a beautiful engagement planned in Tasmania and Craig refused to go and sit on the banks of the river to look for platypus¿' Jonathan told The Steph Show on Monday afternoon

The couple live together in Craig's sprawling Hampshire mansion.

Craig was previously married to wife Jane for two and a half years; the former couple exchanged vows in 1990 when he was 25 and she was 30.

But he recently admitted the marriage collapsed after he caught her in bed with another man.

‘Time was ticking. She wanted to have children and I thought, “Well, this is a really good opportunity,"' he told the Daily Mail in 2019. 'I was both gay and straight, so being bisexual, it wasn’t a big issue for me or her.

Hilarious: In an interview with MailOnline, he hilariously quipped: 'If a ghoul is gonna come out and get me during the wedding then let it try darling, I'll dance it off!' (pictured in 2020)

‘We were two people who loved each other, coming together and wanting to have kids before it was too late. But then it ended in adultery. That was after two-and-a-half years.

'When you find someone in bed with someone else and they say they are in love with them, that puts a dampener on it.’

Three decades on, the choreographer and dancer, who has been a judge on Strictly Come Dancing since its start in 2004, says he and his ex-wife remain close friends.

‘She runs my website. We go on holidays together. She’s remarried and she’s got a son. She sort of got everything she wanted in the end.’
