Alanis Morissette to perform at Bluesfest in Byron Bay following battle with postpartum depression

Alanis Morissette will perform at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in April.

According to Music Feeds, the Canadian songstress, 45, will play her iconic 1995 album Jagged Little Pill in its entirely to celebrate the album's 25th anniversary.

Upon its release, Jagged Little Pill catapulted Alanis to super-stardom and eventually sold over 33 million copies worldwide, making it one of the highest-selling albums of all time.

Her upcoming performance at Bluesfest comes after the star opened up about her battle with postpartum depression. 

The mother-of-three welcomed her son Winter Mercy last August, and shared a candid essay on her website about postpartum depression at the time.

In October, she spoke on CBS This Morning about the ordeal, sharing how she's sought professional help and wants to document her experience to help remove the stigma of mental illness.

The You Oughta Know singer revealed that she'd suffered postpartum depression after the birth of her first two children, but didn't expect it again this time around.

It came, though, with symptoms like sleep deprivation, fogginess, physical pain, feelings of isolation, and anxiety.

'This time around, it's less depression, it's more anxiety and a little more of the compulsive, obsessive thoughts,' she told CBS This Morning.

'I mean, images that are horrifying, just a lot of times about safety about the people you love, your loved ones, your children … and then me just having to remind myself, "Oh no, this is just postpartum depression swooping in again. Stop."'  

Alanis recently returned to the music scene with her new single, Reasons I Drink.

She will release her ninth studio album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road, in May.
