Maggie Gyllenhaal dons head-to-toe red and chats career for Variety's Actors on Actors

The Deuce's Maggie Gyllenhaal stood out in a head-to-toe red ensemble to discuss her career with Variety's Actors on Actors at Goya Studios in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The Oscar nominee - who turned 41 on Friday - wore a belted cardigan with matching pants and pumps selected by stylist Erin Walsh.

Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett coiffed the native New Yorker's pixie cut while make-up artist Quinn Murphy brought out her baby blues. 

UK fans can catch Maggie (born Margalit) as Lisa Spinelli, who becomes obsessed with her gifted student in The Kindergarten Teacher, when it finally hits theaters February 8.

Gyllenhaal has two daughters - Ramona, 11; and Gloria, 6 - with her husband of nine years, The Looming Tower actor Peter Sarsgaard.

The Golden Globe winner comes from a showbiz family - including Oscar-nominated screenwriter mother Naomi Achs, Emmy-nominated director father Stephen, and Oscar-nominated actor brother Jake.

Maggie also likely chatted about producing and starring as Times Square sex worker Eileen 'Candy' Merrell in The Deuce, which was renewed for a third and final season on September 20.
