'I was seeing double at this point': Maria Menounos shares a humbling video of a friend feeding her as she recovered from brain tumor surgery earlier this year

Maria Menounos has shared a video of herself laying in her hospital bed as she recovered from her brain surgery.

The video was taken just one day after Maria underwent the surgery six months ago.

'This video was taken 24 hours after my brain surgery. I still can’t believe that you can eat and speak normally so soon after,' the 39-year-old captioned the posting on Friday.

While Menounos was convalescing in bed she wondered: '"Why do I work 20 hours a day? To have more? To pay more? To owe more? What is life about? What really matters? Going the extra mile and depleting my health for some boss who's never going to give a s***?"'

'It was hard to keep my eyes open bc i was seeing double at this point,' she wrote as her friend Alyssa helped feed her as she lay in her hospital bed.

'I’ve received so many messages from people saying that my story has helped them, and on my 6 month anniversary I wanted to share this so if you are about to go through this you can see with your own eyes what it can be like.

Maria was diagnosed with a brain tumor last February after suffering from dizziness, slurred speech and headaches.

On June 8 - her 39th birthday - she had surgery to remove the golf ball-sized malignancy.

Which came after the sad news of her mother being diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.

The television personality explained afterwards that the experience was a blessing.

'I think that this was a gift, because I needed to change my life,' she revealed in an interview with Megyn Kelly.

'I needed to change the way I did everything,' she added.

'Out of every bad thing something good comes if you see it if you open your mind to it,' she told Savannah Guthrie on Today last August as well.
