Anna Kendrick dazzles in canary yellow cocktail dress alongside dapper Justin Timberlake at Cannes opening night gala premiere

She is often seen keeping it casual.

But Hollywood actress Anna Kendrick pulled out all the stops when she attended the Cannes premiere of Woody Allen's latest movie on Wednesday.

The brunette beauty, 30, joined Justin Timberlake at the launch of  Cafe Society, where they dazzled fans.

The critically-acclaimed performer kept it classy for the occasion in a canary yellow cocktail dress, which featured a fishtail trail. 

Featuring a sleeveless detail with a plunging neckline, she accessorised with a simple diamond necklace which deftly drew attention to her cleavage.  

Sweeping her glossy hair to the side, she had certainly dressed to impress.

Not that she was the only good-looking star there, of course - as she was accompanied by Justin Timberlake.

Also adding some classic glamour to the proceedings, he stepped out in a fitted tuxedo which showed off his fit physique.

Worn with a traditional white shirt and matching bow tie, he was on fine sartorial form.   

Posing up a storm on the red carpet, the pair looked sensational as they delighted the media to celebrate the opening of Allen's 49th film.

But this wasn't the first time they'd caused a commotion at the annual film event. 

Currently on the promotional trail of upcoming Dreamworks animation Trolls, the duo greeted fans at the 69th Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday afternoon.

The famous duo were typically animated as they alighted from their boat to a red carpet lined with dancers who were clad in brightly coloured ensembles and outlandish wigs.

Anna, 30, matched their bright styles in a pretty tea dress by Chanel, which was emblazoned with an intricate red, white and blue pattern. 

The design successfully gave the petite star an hourglass silhouette as it boasted a belted waist that highlighted her dainty torso before billowing out into a flowing skirt.

Anna paired the low-cut frock with complementary red stilettos, with the skyscraper numbers also successfully elongated the Pitch Perfect star's slender pins. 

But while some might have struggled to walk in the high numbers, Anna looked to have no trouble as she not only sashayed along the red carpet but also busted a move alongside a sprightly Justin. 

The 35-year-old Mirror hit-maker put on an equally suave display for the occasion in a checked shirt and blazer combination. 

He paired the dapper combination with grey chino trousers and slipped his feet into a pair of stylish brogues in a contrasting sand shade.

But his relatively formal ensemble certainly wasn't restrictive as Justin showed off his dancing prowess and threw some shapes.

His playful ways certainly seemed to entertain Anna who couldn't contain her laughter as they dazzled at the photocall. 

Along with Anna and Kendrick, Zooey Deschanel, Gwen Stefani, James Corden and Russell Brand also lend their voices to the animation, which will hit UK theatres in October.
