A-listers don high fashion and wild looks at NGV Gala 2024 as it-girl Julia Fox wears chain mail while carrying a CHANDELIER and Toni Collette opts for a dip-dyed gown at the National Gallery of Victoria

The A-list brought high fashion and drama to the opening of the Yayoi Kusama exhibition in Victoria on Saturday night. 

Leading the charge at the NGV Gala 2024 at the National Gallery of Victoria in Australia was American actress Julia Fox. 

The it-girl ensured all eyes were on her in a mermaid inspired look consisting of a chainmail style gown with intricate silver beading, designed by Catholic Guilt's Ella Jackson.

It featured a plunging neckline and torn style cutouts with a short train that trailed on the pink carpet.

Julia matched the frock to her grey locks that she wore in a half up do with a metallic hairband in her waved hair. 

For makeup, the influencer chose a glamorous palette with a pale  lipstick and heavily lined eyes.  

She kept the high fashion energy with her incredible stacked heels in an animal print cherry red leather and carried a hand mirror. 

Julia finished the look with a chain purse that matched her dress and extra long silver nails.  

Australian actress Toni Collette arrived looking absolutely sensational.

She opted for an artistic, high fashion gown in tones of muted blue, pink and lilac with dip dyed skirting. 

It included a pussy bow at the neck with flowing strands and some glittering details throughout. 

A bird design was embellished on the front, and Toni kept her accessories light but for some glistening earrings. 

The Sixth Sense actress chose a rosy makeup look with a glossy pink lip and wore her caramel locks loosely off her face.

Also making an entrance was Aussie model Jesinta Franklin who chose a white gown with a dramatic split at the thigh. 

It clung close to her famous figure and included a one-shoulder design and a halter neck detail. 

Jesinta added a pair of pointed white heels and chose a warm makeup look with a pink nude lipstick. 

Teresa Palmer made a show-stopping entrance in a silver frock with a corseted bodice and rib detailing throughout. 

The Australian actress added metallic accessories including a gold designer purse and wore black strappy heels. 

The Lights Out star held hands with her handsome husband Mark Webber who was dapper in black. 

Australian actress Rachel Griffiths embraced the artistic theme of the evening in a flowing frock in muted blue tones with eclectic designs. 

The Anyone But You star chose a warm toned makeup look and kept her accessories light to let the dress do all the talking. 

Olivia Molly Rogers stood out from pack in a maroon satin gown with taffeta accents at the elbows. 

The former Miss Universe Australia showed off her figure in the sleeveless number which had a plunging neckline. 

She beamed alongside her new boyfriend, Melbourne businessman Hugo, who was dapper in a classic tuxedo. 

Model Montana Cox opted for high fashion silver gown with pleating and a sleeveless design. 

She worked her angles in the oversized number which she paired with strappy black heels and gold accessories. 

The stunner chose a clean makeup look with lots of highlighter and swept her brunette locks off her face. 

Shanina Shaik opted for an editorial look in a plaid dress with exaggerated sleeves and a puffed hem. 

The Aussie model's dress included a deep V-neck and eyelet fixtures for a corseted effect.

Carrie Bickmore stepped out of her comfort zone and dared to bare in a sheer tulle gown worn over a corset. 

The former star of The Project put her trim pins and underwear on display in the revealing cream number with black script details that matched her heels.

For makeup, she chose a peachy palette with a nude coral lipstick and swept her blonde locks off her face.  

'Melissa Leong channelled the silent screen of the 1920s and she was sure to embrace the excitement of that era with her black lipstick and teased tresses. 

The former MasterChef Australia star was striking some theatrical poses as she showed off her strapless multicoloured column dress in a neon graffiti style. 

She added a pair of statement earrings and artistic makeup to match her eccentric ensemble. 

Ariarne Titmus stunned in a flowing black satin gown with a very long train and corseted details at the back with a ribbon closure. 

The Aussie swimmer opted for a warm makeup look and wore her blonde locks in an old Hollywood soft wave.  

Maria Thattil chose a rich royal blue frock in semi-sheer flowing fabric that offered a glimpse at her metallic heels. 

The former Miss Universe Australia added a white corset over the top the cinched in her waist. 

The model had on a pair of dangling earrings while choosing a glowing makeup look with a soft coral lip in a gloss finish. 

She wore her dark locks pulled back in a ponytail and and added diamond bracelets to her ensemble.
