Ana de Armas hosts sweet 16th birthday party for her beloved dog Elvis on set of her new film Ballerina: 'I love you beyond words'

Ana de Armas is celebrating one of her four-legged family member's sweet 16 birthday.

On Wednesday, the actress took to her Instagram Stories and shares a series of snaps of the party held in honor of her beloved small white furry pooch on the set of her new movie Ballerina.

Part of the Blonde star's arm can be seen in the first photo giving her dog a rub on his tiny chest, as he stood on a table next to his birthday cake with '16' candles on the top of it.

Resembling two-tone brown icing and dark chocolate on the top, the proud doggie mom also had 'Sweet 16 Elvis' written in white on top of the sweet treat.

'Happy birthday Elvis, my sweet boy,' she captioned the picture, before adding, 'I love you beyond words.'

Ana de Armas, 35, took advantage of a break in the shoot for the new John Wick spin-off Ballerina and celebrated her pet dog's sweet 16 birthday on set with some crew members

The impromptu bash was held inside some sort of storage room on the set of the action thriller that serves as the first spin-off, and fifth installment overall in the John Wick film franchise.

Nearly a dozen people joined in on the fun with de Armas (born Ana Celia de Armas Caso) and Elvis, which included two other dogs that were likely brought in by a couple of her colleagues.

At one point during their party they all huddled around a table for a group photo that also highlights the birthday balloons and cake.

There's even a closeup of one of the other doggie moms holding her pooch up for the camera with a party hat on top of his furry head.

The other canine of hand was also dressed with a party hat for a photo that was shared in the post.

While singing Happy Birthday, de Armas was pictured blowing out the '16' candle flame, all while holding her adorable Maltese in her arms.

The actress, best known for portraying Marilyn Monroe in the biopic Blonde (2022), was also captured holding Elvis while coming in to blow out the candle in a GIF.

'Celebrating Elvis with my fav crew! #Ballerina,' she gushed in the last photo in the post

Elvis looked to be exhibiting great behavior, despite all the excitement of the crew members hovering over him in celebration during a break in the film shoot.

It turns out her amazing 16-year-old dog is star in his own right, after having played the role of Marilyn Monroe's dog, Mafia, in Blonde, which was based on the 2000 novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates.

He was hired to be in two scenes in the psychological drama, but ultimately he got cut out of one of them, leaving him with his one scene in the final edit.

'When I watch it, I don't know how to feel because, of course, it's a very serious important scene in the film. And then at the same time, I'm just looking at him and I'm melting,' de Armas said, when telling the story of how he got hired during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers in November 2022.

The leading lady noted during the interview that it was Frank Sinatra who gave Marilyn the dog back in the day.

She went on to credit the director, Andrew Dominik, for seeing Elvis' resemblance to Mafia and hiring him for the Netflix film.

As for Ballerina, the principal photography for the shoot had already wrapped last year, but the crew were assembled again to film additional action sequences.

Directed by Len Wiseman, who's working from a screenplay by Shay Hatten, Michael Finch and Emerald Fennell, de Armas plays ballerina-assassin Rooney as she hunts those who killed her family.

Being that this is the first John Wick spin-off, the story takes place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023).

Along with de Armas, the cast of the upcoming movie also includes Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, the late Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane and Keanu Reeves.

This is Reddick's final screen role as Charon, in the wake of his tragic death in March 2023 at the age of 60, which has since been attributed to heart disease.

Ballerina is scheduled to be released in theaters in the U.S. and UK on June 6, 2025.

Producer Erica Lee has already come out to state that the studio has tentative plans to develop a sequel starring de Armas in the role of Rooney/The Ballerina.
