Busy Philipps, Cynthia Nixon and Wanda Sykes lend their star power to Writers Guild East members striking at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan

The stars were out in force on Tuesday as they supported members of the Writers Guild of America as they continued their strike.

Busy Philipps, 43, was spotted amid a strike protest in Manhattan's Rockefeller Center as she spoke to the crowd to pep up screenwriters.

Other famous faces lending their support included Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon, comic — and WGA member — Wanda Sykes, Mark Ruffalo, John Leguizamo, Broad City's Ilana Glazer, Kal Penn, former SNL star Rachel Dratch, and former SNL writer and ex senator Al Franken.

The writers are striking amid stalled negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which represents both major film and television studios and streaming services including Netflix and Apple TV+.

Writers are seeking better pay — especially for streaming shows that pay only a pittance in residuals — as well as staffing minimums on TV writers rooms and guarantees from studios that they won't try to reduce writers with hodgepodge scripts created by AI programs.

Triple threat: Wanda Sykes, who is both a writer, comedian and member of the WGA, also addressed the crowd

Busy opted to dress casually while putting her support front and center.

She had on a gray 'Writers Guild On Strike!' T-shirt, which she wore tucked into a loose-fitting set of acid wash bellbottom jeans.

The Freaks And Geeks star wore her long blond hair tied up in a top knot, and she sported playful blue-frame sunglasses that matched her colorful nails.

While addressing the crowd from a podium, Busy emphasized that most writers are not well off, despite a few well-known screenwriters become wealthy.

'Some people really think writers are rich,' she told the supportive crowd, via Gothamist. 'Now, give me a scream if the most expensive thing that you own is the laptop you write on.'

The crowd of screenwriters and their supporters reportedly erupted into cheers, before she shouted, 'Pay the writers!'

And Just Like That... star Cynthia Nixon looked lovely in a purple sleeveless button-up blouse as she joined in with the labor rights action.

She also had on a pair of chocolate-colored high-waisted pants that were belted around her waist, and she wore her red hair in a short design that was parted at the side.

She carried a sign noting that her SAG-AFTRA union — which primarily represents actors — is working in solidarity with the WGA.

Wanda Sykes was seen at the rally in a simple black T-shirt and black pants, while she wore sunglasses and had her hair styled in tight curls.

'Right now ... there's no way [a staff writer] can survive unless they have another job, something to supplement their income,' Sykes told NPR's Fresh Air on Monday. 'I'm praying and hoping [for an agreement], but ... we can't back down. This is the line in the sand.'

Sykes' Netflix series The Upshaws, which she co-created and stars in, is currently on hiatus due to the ongoing strike.

Elsewhere at the protest, Busy was seen hanging out with Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle star Kal Penn, who looked cool in a blue T-shirt, red pants and sneakers, and Ilana Glazer, who wore a brilliant white blouse with pale blue jeans and zip-up boots.

Ilana also stopped for a humorous photo with Scabby the Rat, the inflatable rodent that can often be found at union protests.

Although Leguizamo has done plenty of writing with his one-man shows, other actors joined the event to show they were in it together with writers.

Mark Ruffalo looked chic in a striped, bleach-splattered shirt and a tan jacket as he held a sign from SAG-AFTRA expressing solidarity.

Susan Sarandon rocked a blue-and-white striped shirt and a complementary jacket with a cap over her red hair and sunglasses as she held aloft the same sign, which says, 'Acting together for a better future.'

Sketch comedy star Rachel Dratch showed off a winning smile while wearing a black shirt that also represented that actors union.

Al Franken addressed the crowd while wearing a charcoal plaid shirt and dark blue jeans.

He referenced negotiations with studios to keep AI out of writers room, though a working group for the WGA has proposed allowing writers the option of using AI to assist them, while still trying to prevent studios from replacing them with the programs.

Al Franken told a terrible joke to illustrate the need to keep AI out of screenwriting. 'What happened to the computer that was crossing the street? It was run over by a self-driving Tesla,' he joked.
The punchline: After a pause, he added, 'That's a bad joke,' to lukewarm laughs. But he revealed there was a reason for the unfunny joke. 'You wanna know why? It was written by a computer,' he said
