Love Island's Zara is DUMPED from the villa following a shock recoupling - after the decision was left down to former flame Tom

Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown was dumped from the Love Island villa during Wednesday evening's episode following a shock recoupling.

The blonde beauty was left single as the decision came down to her former flame Tom Clare, who opted to couple up with Ellie Spence instead.

His decision left the 25-year-old without anyone to recouple with, after failing to form any new connections following their romance. 

The recoupling saw new girl Samie Elishi be chosen by Kai Fagan, who appeared over the moon to have first pick of her - ahead of Ron Hall and Tom, who had also been getting to know the brunette since her arrival. 

While Ron's initial romantic interest Lana Jenkins was chosen first by Aaron Waters, who showed that he was keen to grow closer to the Make-Up Artist.

As both of his romantic choices were off the table, Ron then decided to form a friendship couple with close pal Tanyel Revan.

Talking in his speech, the Financial Advisor explained: 'I couldn't stand facing this journey without you, as my best friend in here. So, the person I'd like to couple up with is, Tanyel.' 

The Hair Stylist was happy with the choice, as the pair shared a sweet cuddle - with Ron joking afterwards: 'There are people I'd much rather be sharing a bed with, but I'm glad it's you. Cause at least I can spoon a mate, d'you know what I mean?'

And following the recoupling, Ron vowed to try to patch things up with Lana as he told the unconvinced beauty: 'One week, I will be coupled up with you'. 

Spencer Wilks opted to couple up with Olivia Hawkins, who has also been exploring things with Tom again in recent days, as he told the group: 'She's taken the time to get to know me'. 

While strong couples Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga and Will Young and Jessie Wynter decided to stick with the same couples.

And for Shaq, it appeared that the recoupling had sparked some strong feelings - as he then revealed to Tanya that he was in love with her, to which she returned the feeling. 

As Zara left the villa for good, she spoke on her experience of the show to ITV2, sharing her predictions that both Shaq and Tanya and Will and Jessie will last on the outside.

And after her relationship with Tom ended up ending her time in the villa, she added: 'I genuinely think me and Tom calling it a day was the best thing that we could have done because we weren’t ever actually on the same page. 

'Like a flame, we burned quick, and it was just more physical attraction. The fact we weren’t each other's types intrigued us to try and make a go of it, but ultimately it didn’t work out.'

Many fans were devastated to see Zara depart the villa, taking to Twitter to beg producers to bring her back. 

'I think that dumping was a violation and Zara didn't deserve that #loveisland,' shared one viewer. 

As another added: 'the villa is dead withoiut Zara tbh'.

While a third demanded: ' @loveisland you have until the end of the episode to bring Zara back', and a fourth echoed: 'Can they bring Zara back in casa amor?'

'Calling a sickie into work because Zara left. Bank holiday is needed after that,' tweeted one user.
