Fancy a no-fuss moisturiser that will plump, firm and hydrate? If so, the Mimétique Skin Restore+ Rich Face Cream claims to be just what you need to transform your skin - and I put it to the test. 

Originally launched in 2023, Mimétique Skin Restore quickly became a bestseller, and the brand has now introduced Skin Restore+, with the same actives but a richer, more concentrated formula. 

This plumping anti-wrinkle cream is ideal for all skin types, but was exclusively designed for dry, mature, and sensitive skin.

Ultra-concentrated, this cream strengthens your skin barrier and gives you firmer and plumper skin, leading to much younger-looking skin. 

This new iteration has eight per cent more lipids (butters and squalane) than the previous version. 

Included in the formula is SMR-C5 Complex, which protects, hydrates and regenerates the skin, as well as a hyaluronic acid duo that hydrates the skin's surface and penetrates the skin to hydrate deeper. 

It utilises seven ceramides, which strengthen the skin barrier by sealing in hydration, giving you smooth, plump, supple skin - these ceramides are also naturally found in our skin, so they're kind to sensitive skin. 

After testing this cream for a few weeks, I have to say I generally like it - it's not without its flaws, but it's earned its spot in my skincare rotation. 

I have combination skin - a lovely blend of oily and dry patches (especially in the winter), so finding something that works for both can be a little challenging sometimes, and I found that this kept my dry patches nourished and hydrated all day without looking oily. 

I used the Skin Restore+ cream in the morning, as both a moisturiser and primer, but found that if I didn't wait long enough to apply makeup on top, it would pill - this isn't uncommon for thicker moisturisers, so isn't necessarily a strike against the cream. 

Now, as someone who is often in a rush in the mornings and typically applies makeup immediately after moisturising, this makes it a no-go for rushed mornings. 

When I had slightly more time and could let the cream sit for a few minutes before applying makeup, it did not pill, so I'm definitely more likely to use it in the evening or at weekends when I have more time for my routine. 

Will I repurchase when my tube is done? For sure. It's now my go-to for those days when I feel like my skin could use a little extra hydration.
