'I'm the first Asian to take home the title!' Australian K-pop star Kevin Kim looks on in disbelief as he's crowned Cosmopolitan's Bachelor of the Year... beating out Cam Cranley and Home and Away's Orpheus Pledger

He's a chart-topping K-pop star and radio host with thousands of fans across the globe.

But despite his popularity, Kevin Kim was left in utter disbelief after being crowned the Cosmopolitan + Tinder Bachelor of the Year in Sydney - making him the first Asian to ever receive the title. 

After his name was read out, the 29-year-old was frozen in place, seemingly assuming that someone else had been named the winner.

After runner-up Cam Cranley started to congratulate him, a shocked Kevin pointed to himself and mouthed 'Me?'

After being assured that he was in fact the winner, the shocked star made his way to the stage to accept his $5000 cash prize.

'You look incredibly surprised!' remarked one of the hosts of the event. 'Are you?'

'Am I?' he responded.

'So, I didn't expect this at all,' he continued. 'What's going on here? This is not a dream?'

Speaking to Cosmopolitan shortly after winning, the hitmaker said: 'I never thought I'd even be nominated let alone win.'

He continued: 'I'm the first Asian to take home the title so that's pretty cool. I feel proud to be representing and really humbled by all the support from people who voted.'

He also revealed that his 'celebrity hall pass' is American songstress Ariana Grande. 

'I love her smile and her style,' he gushed. 'And of course I love her music so we could do a duet together.'

The Korean-Australian beat out stiff competition from The Bachelorette's Cam Cranley and Malcolm Turnbull, Home and Away's Orpheus Pledger, and rugby star Tim Antsee.  

Kevin currently works as a radio host and presenter at SBS PopAsia in Sydney.

He was previously a member of the K-pop boy band ZE:A after relocating from Australia to Korea as a teenager to become a singer.
