Ansel Elgort becomes first time dad as he's seen carrying newborn baby in New York

Ansel Elgort has welcomed his first child.
The 31-year-old actor stepped out in New York City this week carrying the newborn, who was adorably dressed in a white fleece onesie with animal ears.
A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the West Side Story star recently became a father.
Elgort has yet to publicly reveal the infant's name and sex, but looked overjoyed while strolling alongside a woman in the Big Apple.
The baby was secured in a blue front-facing carrier, with the new dad affectionately holding him or her close.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Elgort's reps for comment.

Elgort is known for starring in Steven Spielberg's 2021 West Side Story remake.
He also appeared in 2017's Baby Driver from director Edgar Wright.
His acting credits also include The Fault in Our Stars and the HBO Max series Tokyo Vice.
Last November Elgort took the stage in Pete Townshend’s rock ballet Quadrophenia, in the role of The Godfather.
The nepo baby, whose parents are opera director Grethe Holby and Vogue photographer Arthur Elgort, is currently working on the film Dinner With Audrey.
He will play renowned designer Count Hubert de Givenchy opposite Thomasin McKenzie's Audrey Hepburn.
The actor referred to the new role in his latest Instagram post, uploaded December 14.
Engaging his 7.6 million followers, he shared photos of himself hovering over a kitchen stove and added the caption: 'Preparing for my role as Givenchy by making French toast.'

In a 2012 Vogue interview, Elgort reflected on accompanying his dad during photo shoots when he was growing up.
'My dad would throw me in the picture if they needed an extra. From an early age, I understood the concept that, if you're not the star, then your job is to not pull attention away from the star,' he said.
In 2013 he showed off his acting chops in the film adaptation of Carrie, based on the well-known Stephen King book.
He was later cast as Caleb Prior in the Divergent movie series.
The lifelong performer trained as a dancer at the School of American Ballet before graduating from LaGuardia High School.
