In contrast, women needed 41 hours as L-plate drivers before passing, according to the survey of 1,500 British motorists.
Despite this, men are more likely to be involved in car crashes – males account for 74 per cent of all UK road deaths and 70 per cent of serious injury accidents.
A spokesman for Car Parts 4 Less, which commissioned the research, said: ‘As well as taking less time to pick up driving skills, men were also more likely to pass their theory and practical tests the first time compared to women.’
