DoorDash customer sparks outrage with very insulting request for delivery driver

A DoorDash driver was left outraged by a customer's humiliating request.

The anonymous delivery driver uploaded a viral post to Reddit on Monday about a patron who demanded he dance the Macarena before delivering a McDonald's order.

'Do the Macarena for 10 seconds for an extra $3 tip,' read the delivery instructions on the in-app screenshot the driver shared. The delivery time was after 12am.

The 30-year-old courier, who went by OnyxLeigion_ online, shared his snarky reaction to the slightly dehumanizing request.

'You can, in fact, keep your three dollars,' he wrote. 'I don’t need to be recorded and posted on the internet for three dollars.'

He completed the delivery without so much as a hip shake, much to the disappointment of the rambunctious teens who made the request.

They apparently ran up to their window and 'threw a fit' when the driver failed to follow through.

'It was in a rich area with kids who apparently think that because I do DoorDash, I’m desperate for three dollars,' added the driver.

The customers messaged him after the uncompleted request: 'Aw we were gonna tip extra man.'

'I responded that I didn’t need to be put on TikTok for 3 dollars and there was no response,' the driver added.

He believed that the teens planned on recording him in hopes that his humiliating dance would earn them internet clout.

'They had their phones in their hands,' he said.

'Definitely looked like they were trying to do the whole "I’m just casually holding my phone and it just happens to be pointing at you" thing.'

The driver shared the request in a DoorDash drivers' Reddit thread and many fellow couriers were similarly outraged at the customer's unbridled audacity.

His post racked up more than 350 comments and 6,000 upvotes.

'Jesus, literally "dance poor person dance,"' said one commenter.

'These people think they’re so funny, too. Like they’re the life of every room they’re in when really people try to leave the moment they walk in,' another added.

'Three bucks for you, but probably thousands of views and then getting paid on TikTok is a hard pass,' a third said.

'Some people really get off on humiliating others,' a fourth said.

Others said the price simply wasn't high enough for them to consider making a fool of themselves in the middle of the night in a ritzy neighborhood.

'I mean, for 10 I’ll think about it, for 15 I’ll really think about it. For $20, I might just do it,' one commenter said.

'I would have said I don’t dance for less than $100,' another added.

'I’ll need at least $30 to become a dancing monkey,' a third chimed in.

After the failed dancing delivery, the driver received his first one star review

Some drivers said they would do it just for fun, which the original poster argued furthered the kids' egos.

'The way they acted when I didn’t do it also makes me think other drivers have actually done it,' he said. 'Which is sad.'

After completing the delivery and refusing to sing for his supper, the driver posted that his failure to dance may have caused his first one-star review.

'Got my first ever one-star rating,' he wrote. 'Very sure it’s from this because the only things they marked were friendliness and not following instructions.'

'We really need to be able to dispute ratings, it’s not my job to dance for children’s amusement and I shouldn’t be punished for refusing.'
