The 28-year-old Australian actor, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Frankenstein, shared several cuddles with his mum on the red carpet.
The Saltburn star looked dashing in a black tuxedo with sharp lapels, a crisp white shirt, black bow tie, and polished Oxford shoes.
He complemented his look with a neatly groomed moustache and a subtle mullet-inspired hairstyle.
Meanwhile, Melissa turned heads in a strapless, floor-length gown featuring a multicoloured sequin and beaded floral pattern in rich jewel tones.
Her hair was swept back, and she opted for minimal makeup and simple drop earrings.

Sadly, Jacob lost the Best Supporting Actor Oscar to Sean Penn, who was awarded for his work on One Battle After Another.
It comes after Jacob got flirty with Chase Infiniti on Saturday night at MPTF's 24th Annual Night Before pre-Oscars event.
He was chummy with the 25-year-old One Battle After Another star and was seen wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
At one point, the two entertainers locked hands and shared a laugh at the star-studded event.
