Anthea Turner, 65, says fiancé Mark Armstrong has reinvigorated her sex life - and reveals she blamed the breakdown of her marriage to love rat Grant Bovey on the menopause
Anthea Turner has revealed how her sex life has been 'ignited' by her partner.
The former Blue Peter presenter, 65, spoke to The Sunday Times Style Magazine about life after menopause and her romance with fiancé Mark Armstrong.
While she revealed that being on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) has reawoken her sex drive, during her now-defunct marriage to philandering Grant Bovey, she blamed herself and her hormones on the demise of their union.
When asked if romance dwindles in your 60s, she said: 'Oh God, no, that's not how it works for me. Desire fades a bit in menopause but it doesn't stay like that....
'I'm a fully paid-up member of the HRT club and there's nothing like a nice new relationship for igniting everything again.'

Aged 52, her marriage to property developer Grant, which had started through an affair, began to fail - which she insisted was down to 'feeling low' and her hormones, before later discovering he was being unfaithful.
She had been married to Radio 1 DJ Peter Powell, who she left in 1998 for Grant. She went on to be with Grant and they were married for 15 years from 2000 to 2015.
They first split in 2012 and briefly reconciled before separating for good in 2013, and were divorced in 2015 on the grounds of his adultery.
The marriage ended after she discovered that Grant, then 52, was having an affair with interior designer Zoe de Mallet Morgan.
Her discovery came less than a year after she had forgiven him for an indiscretion with another woman. Looking back at their relationship, the presenter revealed she does not regret marrying ex-husband Grant despite him cheating on her.
The presenter previously revealed that she wrote a letter to Grant, pleading with him to understand how the menopause was responsible for her behaviour in their marriage, not knowing he was already cheating on her with a 24-year-old.

Anthea said her work commitments made it hard to have a proper conversation with her ex, so she tried to put down the changes she was experiencing on paper.
Fast forward to present day, Anthea has found love again with millionaire businessman Mark.
Recalling his proposal during a romantic trip to Italy, she told HELLO: 'I had a hunch. It was all very quick (we were engaged within just a few months of meeting),'
'But when you are older it does tend to move a bit quicker because 'when you know, you know' and there is no point in messing around is there?!'.
