Loose Women's Mariella Frostrup has revealed that the festive season in her household got off to a disastrous start when her husband fell from a ladder while putting up Christmas lights.
The presenter, 63, made the revelation on Thursday's edition of the programme to her co-hosts Kaye Adams, Olivia Attwood Dack and Nadia Sawalha as they discussed the prospect of cancelling Christmas.
Mariella, who is married to human rights lawyer Jason McCue, said: 'My husband, who's really the most festive one of all of us. He gets really excited by Christmas, it's really annoying.
'He was up the ladder stringing festive lights in the garden. He fell off the ladder and broke his right arm. So, spent hours and hours in A&E.
'Yes, I felt very sorry for him, but at the same time, I felt sorry for me because I realised we've got 14 people coming for Christmas, including kids.
'He's right handed, it was his right arm. And so, guess who is now doing everything?!'

The presenter said that as a result of her husband's accident, she has now been left with the mammoth task of organising Christmas single-handedly for 14 people
The presenter, 63, made the revelation on Thursday's edition of the programme to her co-hosts Kaye Adams (L), Olivia Attwood Dack and Nadia Sawalhaas they discussed the prospect of cancelling Christmas
Mariella then admitted that her concerns about doing Christmas single-handedly are very much 'justified' and said that the stress that can come with the so-called most wonderful time of the year can be 'too much'.
She admitted: 'I'm not inciting you to do this because obviously it's dangerous, but I'm surprised that more women, in particular, aren't throwing themselves off ladders just to end the frenzy. There's so much, it's too much.'
Kaye questioned: 'But is that not your choice?'
Mariella replied: 'You don't get to choose whether it's Christmas or not!'
The accident is not the only difficult revelation that has been made on Loose Women this week.
Olivia Attwood opened up about the heartbreak of leaving her marital home on Wednesday's episode.
The 34-year-old broke down in tears on Tuesday as she moved out of her marital home, admitting that she was 'not ready to say goodbye'.
Olivia, who shot to fame on Love Island in 2017 and is married to Bradley Dack, 31, replied: 'Those of you who know, we had our family home in Manchester, Brad was playing football up there, we lived there.'

Olivia explained that it made no sense for her and her husband Bradley Dack, 31, to continue living in Manchester when they are spending the majority of their time in London
Olivia continued: 'For the last year, we basically haven't. He's been playing football in South London, I'm here all the time. It just doesn't make any sense.
'I found it really hard saying goodbye, I'm not that sentimental, I'm not that emotional.
'And in my friendship group, we have this ongoing joke where they liken me to Cameron Diaz from The Holiday because she can't cry.'
She continued: 'We were talking about it earlier, my twenties was an emotional rollercoaster, I was up, I was down, I was sideways. I cried over so many stupid things.
'I went through a period of my life which was quite hard, I kind of just put the plug in, and I haven't taken it out since.
'Anyway, I kind of got caught off guard with emotion when I was saying goodbye to things in the house.'
Olivia's co-host Kaye Adams asked: 'What was it about that, then?'
Olivia said: 'I think a lot of people struggle with change. I like the idea of it, then when I was actually feeling the reality that this is no longer home, it felt very sad.
