England defender Lucy Bronze's new ALIGNE collaboration is the hottest drop of AW25
It’s been another shining summer for the England Women’s Football Team. They defied all the odds to become European Champions – the first senior footballing team to win an international tournament overseas – while continuing to lobby for equality in women’s sport and more encouragement and funding for young girls.
But on-pitch isn’t the only place they sparkle. The players have been showing some serious style credentials over the past few months, from modelling chic M&S tailoring for an official womenswear FA collection to pioneering a social media trend of using pre-wrap sports tape as a headband (it looks like satin, according to the New York Times).
And now, we have another collision between the footballing and fashion worlds to get excited about. East London brand ALIGNE – which has a long history of supporting women’s sporting teams across rugby and football – has teamed up with England defender (and all-star) Lucy Bronze on a new capsule collection.
Bronze has worked with ALIGNE before, starring in their SS24 campaign, but this is the first time she’s got involved in the design process herself. The result? Fantastic tailoring, cosy knits and on-trend outerwear that’s both stylish and comfortable. And as most of us stuck in restrictive trousers and itchy sweaters know, that’s an impressive combination.
The 18-piece collection spans everything from an aqua blue mohair jumper to a stunning two-piece pinstripe co-ord set we’re betting enters plenty of influencers’ wardrobes. Our favourite? A super cute gilet in this season’s trending mocha shade, complete with borg pockets – a statement (and a warm one at that!).
