'She's killing it!' Fans are blown away by Tina Turner impersonator Rebecca O'Connor on The Voice - while others question the 'tribute act'

Tina Turner impersonator Rebecca O'Connor divided viewers on Tuesday's episode of The Voice.

While many viewers were blown away by her rendition of the singing show staple Proud Mary, others felt that The Voice has been casting too many impersonators. 

'OMG I love this lady,' tweeted one viewer, while another wrote: 'Impersonators don't need this show to be honest.'

'Is it just me or is there so many more impersonators this year,' one asked.

'What a voice!! Loved her performance,' explained another, while one wrote: 'So many impersonators this year. Be yourself peeps.'

'They turned down the Michael Hutchence impersonator for not being original and unique and a true artist but they accepted another impersonator which completely contradicts their reasoning,' raged one disgruntled viewer.

Rebecca currently works as professional Tina Turner impersonator, and often tours between Australia and Ireland with her Simply The Best tribute show.

The Voice has been a blockbuster hit for Channel Seven since returning to screens earlier this month.

About 1.158million people tuned in to watch the singing competition across the five major cities - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth - on Monday.

This figure grew to a whopping 1.72million nationally, when regional viewers were included.

The Voice was the most-watched entertainment program of the night, and was also the most-watched show in its time slot.

Channel 10's Australian Survivor came a distant second in the time slot with 733,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, The Block notched up 619,000 metro viewers. 

The Voice is hosted by Sonia Kruger this year, and its coaching panel comprises Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy and Keith Urban.
