The Bachelor's Elora was left exposed on Thursday's episode, when a well-meaning request became lost in translation.

During a series of classic 'Aussie beach games' on a group date, the Tahitian beauty got a shock when Matty J commanded: 'everybody take your thongs off!'

The Fitness Trainer looked almost offended by the request, clearly believing he was asking contestants to remove their G-strings.

'What, like underwear?' she asked, as the rest of the bachelorettes burst into laughter.

'No Not underwear!' Tara teased.

Still with a look of embarrassment painted across her face, Elora told producers: 'It's not thongs, it's flip-flops... In Tahiti, thongs is underwear!'

 'Elora thinks we're tossing G-strings!' Tara continued, putting her head on Elora's shoulder to console her.

Matty J was seen flashing a coy smile after the confusion, causing Cobie to explain to cameras: 'I think Matty was excited that the game rules might be changing!'

The bachelorettes were competing for the chance to extend their group date with the hunky Marketing Manager.

Jennifer almost single-handedly won the game for her flailing team, clearly an expert at tossing flip-flops into eskys.

'I'm quite a good thong thrower!' she explained to producers afterwards.

Luckily, Elora wasn't around to become confused by the request.

Jennifer's thong tossing skills weren't enough of an incentive for her to remain in the competition, making a shock exit on Thursday.

When contestants questioned her about her 'mean girl' antics, she was reduced to tears and later stormed out of the Bachelor mansion with her luggage.
