'There's a real sense of anticipation and gratitude in those first reunions that feels so unique to this time of year.

'It's been a joy to witness those memories being made right in front of us.'

The heartwarming initiative was created by Costa Coffee to bring festive cheer to those catching up and to celebrate the moments of connection during the holiday season.

The brand commissioned research of 5,000 adults who celebrate Christmas and found nearly half (47 per cent) said spending time with loved ones boosts their seasonal spirit.

While almost nine in 10 (86 per cent) agreed the holidays are a perfect opportunity to catch up with those they care about most.

The research also highlighted favourite Christmas rituals for catching up with loved ones, including winter walks (39 per cent) meeting in coffee shops (27 per cent) and watching festive films (40 per cent).

Martine's heartwarming video comes weeks after she reunited with her Love Actually child co-star Thomas Brodie-Sangster for a new Google Pixel advert.

Thomas, 35, played Liam Neeson's step-son Sam in the movie and his main character arc followed him learning the drums in a bit to impress his classmate Joanna, while Martine played Natalie, the Prime Minister's love interest.

Martine is heralded 'the actor from Love Actually!' while Thomas is ignored by passersby
It features a reunion between child star Thomas Brodie-Sangster and national sweetheart Martine

Martine's heartwarming video comes weeks after she reunited with her Love Actually child co-star Thomas Brodie-Sangster for a new Google Pixel advert

In the advert, Thomas is seen as desperately clinging to his Love Actually fame, as he reveals around Christmas he hangs around South Bank in a bid to be noticed - only to be overlooked by other stars and moments from the movie.

As he hits the drums he believes a fan is taking pictures - however tragically they are in fact spotting Martine in the background - who drops the popcorn she is buying and utters 'oh s**t!' in a mimic of one of Natalie's lines in the film.

Speaking to the camera, Thomas launches the advert by saying: 'This is it, this is where we filmed Love Actually...

'I like to come back here once or twice or 20 odd times each Christmas just to give something back to the fans and I get recognised a lot.'
