Emilia Pérez star Karla Sofía Gascón will be skipping the upcoming SAG Awards amid her tweet scandal.
Due to the ongoing controversy and public outrage, the 52-year-old actress will not be flying to Los Angeles for the ceremony as she continues to miss a string of awards shows.
However, Gascon — who is nominated for an Oscar in the best actress category — will be attending the Academy Awards on March 2, friends of the actress told Page Six on Thursday.
The Spanish star has been embroiled in social media controversy after her racist and anti-Muslim tweets resurfaced and went viral.
Amid the scandal, she has already missed the Critics Choice Awards, PGA Awards, the Goya Awards and the BAFTAs in spite of her many best actress nominations for her work in the Netflix film.
Gascon was the first transgender actress to be nominated for a BAFTA Film Award.

She also missed her co-star Zoe Saldana's expletive-ridden acceptance speech after winning the award for Best Supporting Actress at the BAFTAs.
Additionally, she was not present to see her Emilia Perez's director Jacques Audiard take home the award for the the Best Film Not in the English Language.
The musical crime thriller has received 13 nods for the upcoming Oscars ceremony — which she previously called 'an ugly, ugly gala' in one of her controversial tweets — and is up for Best Picture at the award show.
Gascon also made history as the first transgender star to be nominated for the best actress Oscars gong.
However, she has been absent from awards season campaigning after some of her past tweets came to light.
In recent weeks, social media sleuths dug up her old tweets prior to her landing the major role and dating as far back as 2016.
She was condemned by many social media users after they discovered the many shocking and controversial remarks she previously made on X, formerly Twitter.
In addition to denigrating Islam, she also said George Floyd a 'drug addict and a hustler' and called her co-star Selena Gomez was a 'rich rat' prior to working on Emilia Perez with her.

Gascon has since apologized for her tweets.
'As someone in a marginalized community, I know this suffering all too well and I am deeply sorry to those I have caused pain,' she said in a statement released via Netflix.
'All my life I have fought for a better world. I believe light will always triumph over darkness.'
Netflix has since removed Gascon from a new poster that was released after the Oscar nominations and after the controversy first surfaced.
