Jodie Turner-Smith has opened up about co-parenting her daughter Juno, four, with her ex husband Joshua Jackson

The once loved-up couple shocked Hollywood when they announced they would be going their separate ways after three years of marriage in October 2023.

And now the actress, 38, who was honoured with the Screen Trailblazer award at the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards on Tuesday evening, has revealed there is no 'manual' on co-parenting.

Featuring as Glamour's cover star, she told the publication: 'It's an adjustment period for anyone when they split up with someone, because you're used to being with your child all the time.

'But nobody hands you a manual. Everyone's trying to figure it out.'

She continued: 'Each parent has a different life, and especially if the reason why you're splitting up is because you have different lives, it's only further complicated by how you're going to coparent.'

The star is currently in London filming for The Agency, an English-language remake of the French espionage series, Le Bureau des Légendes, but used her two day break from filming to pop back to LA to see her daughter.

Juno remains in America for school, but her mother admitted being separate from her daughter had been difficult.

She added: 'This is going to be the thing I look back on and think, "Wow, I survived that". This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do.'

The Queen and Slim actress cited 'irreconcilable differences' in her divorce filings as she made a bid to remove herself from the 'unhealthy' marriage.

Weeks after Jodie officially filed for divorce, Joshua, 46, was photographed holding hands with Lupita Nyong'o, 41, hours after it was confirmed they were dating.

Speaking about the pictures, Jodie said: 'He can do whatever he wants. Just be good to Juno and be good to Juno’s mum, because I’m going to be Juno’s mum forever.

'It’s really not for me to have an opinion on his journey.'

Jodie led the recipients and was awarded the Trailblazer trophy by pal and James Bond star Naomie Harris at the Glamour Awards on Tuesday.

Taking to the stage Jodie spoke candidly about her struggles with imposter syndrome and said the award 'wasn't really about her' but was about the opportunity she'd been given as an actress to share 'love and joy'.

She previously spoke about the end of her marriage to the Dawson's Creek actor with the Sunday Times Style magazine back in February.

She said: 'Sometimes things we really want to work just don't end up working. And that's OK. The most important thing is that you choose what's healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children. There are so many different moments in our life where we look at ourselves and say, "Who am I and am I being true to that?"

'If the answer is no, then you have to make a move because I believe that there are visible scars from staying in places that are not good for us. And they don't just affect us, they affect everybody around us. I don't think it's a failure. We obviously had such a beautiful moment together. And now it's time for a new moment for both of us.

'And how exciting! The bravest thing in the world is to recognise when something's not working and to make a move, and I always want to set that kind of example for my daughter. The big takeaway is that this is about just as much love and joy as it has always been. This is only about taking a step forward into a better life for everybody involved.'
