Keith Lemon's Channel 4 show The Fantastical Factory Of Curious Craft has been axed after one series. 

Sharing the news on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, comedian Keith - real name Leigh Francis - said the crafts show would not be coming back as it's 'too expensive.' 

The show, which aired in 2020, saw budding crafters go head-to-head in a bid to impress 'factory boss' Keith, 48, and win celebrity commission with their speculator creations.

Among the showbiz names looking to secure a craft included presenter Eamonn Holmes, comedian Katherine Ryan, Spice Girl Mel B and Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp. 

Speaking during an Instagram Q&A, the Celebrity Juice legend, who co-hosted the quirky show with Naked Attraction's Anna Richardson, revealed: 'No it won't be back. I really enjoyed doing it but I think it was too expensive.' 

Keith's role as factory boss meant he had control over who progressed in the competition - and subsequently who went home.

He told The Sun prior to the show's launch: 'I thought it would be easy. When I saw Simon Cowell on the X Factor I thought what an easy job, shattering dreams. 

'It's terribly hard. It's horrible sometimes when you've seen them spend four to six hours on something and it's ace. But you still have to send someone home.

'I have to think of tax bills to stop myself tearing up.'

Leeds-born Keith is known for creating Channel 4's Bo' Selecta! and has also dabbled in the film industry. 

His debut 2012 feature, titled Keith Lemon: The Film, starred Kelly Brook and David Hasselhoff.

Keith has an additional alter ego, Avid Merrion, who was the lead protagonist in Bo' Selecta! The programme lasted for five series, airing between 2002 and 2006.
