Nicholas Rossi: Predator On Trial: Trailer, certificate and where to watch
The grim but extraordinary story of a fugitive from justice
Year: 2026
Certificate: 15
Some true-crime stories can seem almost harmless on the surface. This initially seemed to be the case with Arthur Knight, an apparently Irish-born orphan who was arrested on a Covid ward in Glasgow in 2021. 'Arthur' cut a quirky figure, and was being pursued by the American authorities for extradition. He said he'd never set foot in the US; they said he was Nicholas Rossi, a fugitive from justice in the States who had been convicted of raping two women, then faked his death. That's where the quirkiness of this case ends.
Told across two episodes, it hears from the women Rossi attacked and picks up with footage of his 2025 trial in the US. It also hears from Rossi's former friend Brian Coogan and his uncle, Michael Alahverdian, who paint a picture of his early life that chimes uncomfortably with the way he acted later on, and explores his extraordinary career in law-breaking. Long story short, this is one of those cases that keeps becoming more incredible as it goes on, but is regularly brought down to earth by the moving, shattering and brave accounts of the women he attacked. (Two episodes)
