Take That: Trailer, certificate and where to watch

Gary, Howard and Mark look back on 35 years' worth of footage in this history of the band

Envisaged as a British answer to the American group New Kids On The Block and built around the songwriting talents of Gary Barlow, Take That were a pop smash in the 1990s - and then again after they reunited in 2005. It wasn't one of Barlow's songs that really got them noticed, though - it was their cover of It Only Takes A Minute. Thankfully for Gary, their first number one, Pray, was one of his. Eleven more UK chart toppers would follow after that, but it was Pray that set the tone for the group's sound.

This three-parter from the reliable Fulwell 73 is positioned as a Beatles-style, definitive account of the band's rise, fall and rise again, and is weaved entirely around 35 years' worth of archive footage. The members take turns to reflect on it all as if it were a director's commentary, and the experience of watching feels like stepping into a poptastic time machine, because you never see the band as they are today - all the interviews are off-camera.

Part one deals with the founding and rise, part two with Robbie's exit and success, and part three with the reunion. Gary, Howard Donald and Mark Owen's interviews are all new for the documentary - the reflections with Robbie Williams and Jason Orange both hail from the archive. Robbie has his own Netflix documentary, after all, and Jason retired in 2014. (Three episodes)
