Hunters: Trailer, certificate and where to watch
Al Pacino stars in a two-series drama about Nazi hunters in 1970s America
Year: 2020-2023
Certificate: 15
Al Pacino doesn't venture onto TV often, but he made a long foray onto the small screen for Amazon's two-series thriller - a stylish, violent and heartfelt revenge fantasy about a diverse group of Nazi hunters in 1970s America, of which Meyer Offerman (Pacino) is the charismatic leader. It's from the pen of David Weil, whose grandparents were both Holocaust survivors, and who is also behind Apple's Invasion and Amazon's Citadel. Hunters is arguably the best of those three shows or, at least, certainly the most unusual.
Series one arrived on Amazon in 2020, but we didn't see the second and final run until 2023. In that, the hunters have the ultimate scalp in their sights - the Führer himself. Udo Kier joins the show as Adolf Hitler, whom the hunters discover did not perish in his Berlin bunker in 1945, but is living in South America and trying to set up the Fourth Reich in the US. Pacino is back for series two, as is Logan Lerman as Jonah Heidelbaum, an innocent who's been drawn into the hunters' violent, extra-judicial methods of dispensing justice.
A new face is Single White Female star Jennifer Jason Leigh as fearsome Nazi hunter Chava Apfelbaum, who has been hot on Hitler's trail for some time. (Two series)
