Filmed in Zambia and narrated by David Attenborough, this six-part series follows four rival animal families over five years. It's as visually stunning and dramatic as you might expect, shot around the Luangwa river, which never runs dry, a region rich with life and prey for our predator families to feed on. But don't expect them to rub along together in peace. Hyenas, leopards, wild dogs and lions are the predators at the top of the food chain here, but sharing space and food comes with plenty of potentially deadly challenges.

Leopard mum Olimba is raising two cubs, and her son Moyo is bold and adventurous, perhaps a bit too bold. Wild dogs are new to this region, having not had an established population for many years and with their fearsome leader Storm in charge, they are keen to stake their claim. The hyenas meanwhile, steal their food from wherever they can get it, no mean feat when you're heavily pregnant with your first litter.

But who reigns supreme in this fertile, wild kingdom? Unsurprisingly, perhaps, the lion is the king of this particular jungle. The largest and strongest of all the predators, the male lions can literally help themselves to whatever they want. Expect plenty of perilous encounters, as well as uplifting scenes of surprising animal altruism. (Six episodes)
