The kind of drama in which you feel like no character is truly safe, the six-parter A Life's Worth follows a group of Swedish soldiers into the UN peacekeeping force serving in Bosnia in the 1990s - specifically, in 1993. The focus is on four young troops (Babic, Forss, Kilpinen and Strand) as their ideas of what military service overseas might mean collide head-on with the reality of what it actually is.

Unexpected promotions, fraught interactions with locals and frustrated love affairs all feature as the story develops, and as the soldiers try to balance the idea that they're a peacekeeping force with the need to defend themselves from the very real threats in this Balkan tinderbox. The series is based on Magnus Ernström's book about his experience as a UN soldier in Bosnia in 1993, entitled A Half Year, An Entire Life. The title says it all, really. (Six episodes)
