This Danish drama is set in Copenhagen during the Swinging Sixties and follows the race to liberate women from expensive salon treatments and get them curling their hair at home. Its upbeat, colourful style is very different from the sombre Scandi noirs we're used to seeing, complete with split screen and jaunty voiceover.

We follow ambitious entrepreneur Axel - inspired by Arne Bybjerg Pedersen who made millions from a product that enabled women to quickly and cheaply style their hair at home - as he embarks on the rocky road to getting his electric curlers to market.

It's also a story with a social history dimension, a bit like Mad Men. In a booming economy, women are joining the workforce in record numbers, earning their own money to spend on looking smart, as well as needing time-saving solutions of their own. In series one we meet farmer's wife Birthe as she joins Axel's exciting new venture, and it's as much her story as it is his. (Two series)
