Eagerly awaited when it first aired on the BBC over Christmas 2015, Tony Jordan's series features a host of famous faces playing various characters - some well-known, others less familiar - who all sprang from the pages of Charles Dickens's novels, and now live cheek by jowl in 19th-century London. Delivered in bite-sized, half-hour chunks, it makes for splendid and addictive viewing.

The driving plot at its centre is a whodunnit, in which we follow Inspector Bucket (a wonderfully understated Stephen Rea) as he investigates the murder of Jacob Marley (Peter Firth), and learn more about the relationship between Oliver Twist's Bill Sikes and Nancy in the process. When Dickensian originally aired in the pre-mass streaming days the scheduling was somewhat erratic, so it's good to have the show available all in one place even if, sadly - and against expectations at the time - it didn't receive a second series.
