Love Island: All Stars' Whitney Adebayo has revealed the moment Maya Jama stepped in and banned show producers from airing drama during the finale.

The ITV2 dating show contestant revealed exactly what got cut from the tense concluding episode, which hit screens last month.

Whitney, 28, who came fifth in the most recent series alongside Yamen Sanders, spoke about how host Maya, 31, defended her during the episode.

She heaped praise on Maya for 'having her best interests at heart' when she told ITV producers to cut out some of the drama during the episode.

Whitney joined fellow former Love Island star Tyrique Hyde in a social media video when she explained what went down aside from what viewers saw.

She explained in the video, according to The Sun: 'What I appreciate about Maya, she didn’t have to do this by the way.

'Maya went out of her way to pull me aside, tell me the questions and help me respond in a way that like...'

Tyrique then chimed in to ask: 'Wait so you’re saying before Maya asked you that question, she pulled you to the side and briefed you?'

Whitney continued to explain: 'Yes, so Maya did that. I think they wanted to show some clips on the live, Maya said "No we’re not doing that".

'Like she actually had my best interests at heart. I get that questions need to be asked it’s a show but obviously I have other reality TV PTSD so I appreciated that about her.

'She took out some questions as well.'

Fans were quick to react to the video, taking to the comments to praise Maya for taking the initiative to protect Whitney in the final episode.

One penned: 'Maya has more clout she’s the presenter. Also been doing this for years. Glad she said no to a clip,' as another said: 'Maya a real one.'

'Very sweet of Maya she understands how these rabid fans work and knows the mental health of these contestants is far more important,' a third added.

It comes after Love Island All Stars winner Samie Elishi has hit back at co-star Lucinda Stafford's 'bullying' claims, insisting it is not true.

Lucinda, 26, had a rocky time in the villa and often clashed with Samie, 26, Belle Hassan, 28, and Jessy Potts, 27.

Since leaving the South African villa, Lucinda has appeared on Paul C. Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast and claimed she felt 'bullied' by some of the girls, which led to her being 'isolated' from the group.

Hitting back at Lucinda's claims, Samie told the Daily Mail: 'Some of the stuff that is being said is so bizarre, like the bully accusations, they are not true.

'Every Love Islander that has gone on a podcast since the show has said categorically no one got bullied and obviously the show wouldn't go on if there was.

'That stuff is hard to hear, but you've got to move on, like I know what kind of person I am.'

Speaking at Carmex's Sip & Paint event at Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel on Tuesday, Samie revealed she is still in contact with all of her Love Island co-stars, other than Lucinda.

Since leaving the villa, the pair have unfollowed each other on social media and have made it clear they are no longer friends.

Samie added: 'I'm a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and that is fair because I've got my own opinion and I want people to respect it.

'At the end of the day, my morals are so strong and I know the truth. I know my truth and the people that I'm close to, their truth, and that's all that matters.

'We lived it, we know what went on.'

Samie won the third series of Love Island All Stars with partner Ciaran Davies, 23. The influencer admitted she was ready to leave the villa, as it had become more 'intense' than enjoyable.

'It was getting really intense and just not a very nice environment towards the end. As soon as we left, it was just like we could breathe again,' she explained.

The girls fell out when Lucinda, who was appearing on Love Island for the fourth time, picked Ciaran to couple up with after she arrived as a bombshell.

Tensions only worsened during a game of Snog, Marry, Pie, when Lucinda chose to pie Samie with 'full force,' which Samie described as feeling like a 'slap in the face'.

Lucinda also found herself at loggerheads with Belle over Sean Stone, 26, and Jessy, who claimed she was putting on a 'fake baby voice'.

On one episode, Lucinda stormed off in tears after a huge showdown and host Maya Jama had to step in to comfort her, sparking over 8,500 complaints in one night.

Fellow islander Whitney Adebayo, 28, later asked Lucinda whether she felt she was being bullied, to which she replied that she hadn't been.

Lucinda has since backtracked during her appearance on the We Need To Talk podcast.

When host Paul gave the definition of bullying as 'when you have someone who has been antagonised, typically multiple times, but that person is on the lower end of a power imbalance', Lucinda said: 'Well that was exactly what it was.

'It was like I had in that moment when I was talking to Maya, I genuinely had no one to look to at all, apart from Sean. There wasn't one single person in there that I felt like was my friend. It was literally just Sean.

'And even that night I went to sleep. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I woke up the next morning. I looked around the bedroom and I was like, there's no one to even talk to. This isn't fun.'

Despite her third stint on Love Island being a tense experience, Samie remains a huge fan of the ITV2 dating show and has no regrets.

She explained: 'The fact that I've won is like the craziest thing in the world. I can't fathom it, but I love the show and I'll keep watching it forever.

'It still blows my mind that people know who I am. They are just amazing and it is the best to receive lovely messages.'

Samie joined fellow Love Island stars Lauren Wood, Olivia Hawkins, Kaz Kamwi, and Gabby Allen for a dinner with Carmex on Tuesday.

Celebrity make-up artists Anna Lingis and Lielle Neury had makeup stations where guests could be seated and Carmex was applied.

Love Island: All Stars is available to stream on ITVX.
