Cast tempers and frustration exploded during Tuesday night's fiery episode of Married At First Sight, after two brides stormed out of the Couples Retreat following a heated argument.

The brides and grooms appeared on edge as Bec Zacharia, 35, continued to feud with her co-star Rachel Gilmore, over vulgar comments she previously made about her sex life with husband Steve Danyluk.

Bec initially tried to make things right with Rachel, 35, by apologising for what she said - but things didn't go as planned as the brides began arguing over past hurts.

'Rachel, I want this to be over because at the end of the day this was a frivolous comment meant to be a joke. There's been a lot of Chinese Whispers that have come through from that,' Bec told Rachel.

'You are obviously very hurt. I am willing to move on. Again, I apologise for a comment that was so minor and meant to be a joke and hurt your feelings really badly. In my mind, it was minor and I have apologised over and over.'

However, Rachel was having none of it and bluntly told Bec that she didn't appear to 'understand' why she was so upset - which was making her even more frustrated as she told Bec she didn't know what she could do to make amends.

'You have been talking behind my back, making a joke about my relationship! Just stop, it has become more than a comment now,' Rachel sniped.

Rachel added her relationship with Steve was now being gossiped about due to Bec's actions, which was making her even more upset.

'It is not just the comment from the speech. It is hearing all the talk through the day. My relationship is now the topic of the retreat... that is not fair to us,' Rachel tearfully said.

Rachel then burst into tears and told Bec she was leaving because she could no longer stay at the retreat because people were gossiping about her.

'I'm really sorry, I am getting upset. This is why I didn't want to come here, I am leaving because I am ruining everyone's night,' Rachel said, as she asked her co-stars to give her space to work through her feelings.

In a shock turn of events, Bec's co-stars then began turning on her for upsetting Rachel, with fellow bride Gia Fleur saying that she was 'enraged' by the behaviour, while Juliette Chae said she was 'p**sed off' by what Bec did.

An emotional Bec and her husband Danny Hewitt then followed Rachel's actions by also storming out of the Retreat, saying they were also too upset to stay there.

'Hey, so Juliette called you a dumb b***h and a freak. I had a chat with her about it, she was pretty disgusting with the way she responded. So, we are going to get out of here right now. I am not going to let my wife get spoken to like that,' Danny told Bec.

'We are going to go to a hotel, let's go.'

The pair were then seen leaving, as Danny told producers he was 'ride or die' with Bec, and they were leaving because they refused to be surrounded by negativity.

The shock events come after the MAFS Couples Retreat turned ugly on Monday after Bec made a comment about Rachel's sex life.

Bec was supposed to be toasting the relationship breakthrough for Steve and Rachel in front of the other couples when she said the pair had experienced their first 'fingerb**g.'

The couple, who have had intimacy issues since entering the experiment, had only just shared their happy news with the group when Bec made her joke.

Bec had started by acknowledging that Joel and Juliette had made progress, while Filip had declared his love for his bride Stella.

'Guys… it's the first night of retreat, and we've had I love yous,' she said.

'And we've had a couple who I thought could not come back from the brink of hell.

'And we've had fingerb***ing.'

At first, Rachel tried to defuse the tension, but things quickly escalated when Bec realised that her attempt at humour had gone down badly with the group.

'Bec, a quick apology to Rach,' Sam suggested, which appeared to surprise the controversial bride.

'Oh, I'm so sorry, I apologise, it was meant to be a bit of fun,' Bec told Rachel, but the hurt bride was having none of it.

Rachel replied: 'I didn't think it was funny... I shared with you guys that we took intimacy to a new level, which is really important for Steve and me, and you just made a joke of it.'

'You're very, very quick to turn...it was not meant with malice at all,' Bec told an angry and hurt Rachel, who left the group close to tears soon after.

Married At First Sight continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
