Netflix viewers say they are 'already hooked' on a wild new comedy horror from the creators of Rick And Morty - with fans admitting they have rewatched every episode 'five times on repeat' and are clamouring for a second season.

Haunted Hotel, an adult animated series created by Rick And Morty's Matt Roller, landed on the streaming platform on September 19 and has quickly become one of its most talked-about titles.

Set within the eerie walls of the Undervale, an abandoned inn haunted by the spirits of its past guests, the cartoon blends supernatural chills with irreverent humour.

Will Forte voices Nathan, leading a cast that also includes Eliza Coupe, Natalie Palamides, Jimmi Simpson and Skyler Gisondo.

The ten-part show has already climbed Netflix's global top ten and boasts a strong 83 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes from both critics and audiences.

Many fans have declared it their latest comfort watch, with some looping the entire season repeatedly.

One wrote on Reddit: 'This show is EXCELLENT. I'm really hooked. It's become my new comfort show. I've already seen it like 5 times lol.' Another agreed: 'I've had it on repeat all weekend. Obsessed with Abaddon.'

'I just finished it, the last few episodes were fantastic! I'm definitely hoping for a second season,' one viewer said.

Another shared: 'I had to stay home because I'm sick – I binged the whole thing and really loved it. I want more.'

'Really entertaining show! I was hooked from the start and couldn't stop watching it,' one commenter enthused. 'What a great idea to mix comedy with a family oriented horror cartoon.

'This is a mix of absurd humor, clever writing, and moments of genuine heart. I can't wait to finish watching the first season!'

According to the official synopsis: 'A single mother of two struggles to run a haunted hotel with the help of her estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts haunting the hotel and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas.'

Behind the scenes, Roller explained that Haunted Hotel is peppered with subtle nods to classic horror for sharp-eyed fans to spot. 'There are somewhere above 80 Easter eggs in the show. And they get pretty deep cuts,' he told TV Insider.

'I guess I would challenge people to find the Easter eggs. Some of them are pretty obvious, like shot references, and a bunch of the background wall art… because a hotel just has to be full of art.'

The team even borrowed iconic furnishings from the genre to give the Undervale its atmosphere.

'We put horror buildings in the background, like the Amityville house, and Michael Myers's house as art on the wall. There's a lot of furniture in the hotel from horror movies, which people may not even notice, but why not be specific?'

It comes after news that Rick And Morty has been picked up for another two seasons.

Considering that the Cartoon Network had already greenlit the Adult Swim show for two more seasons after this upcoming eighth, the show is now guaranteed to propel it through a 12th season, at the very least, in 2029.

Co-creator Dan Harmon and showrunner Scott Marder made the big announcement during the Rick And Morty panel at last year's New York Comic Con that featured some of the main members of the show's voice cast, according to Variety.

'Nobody wants a universe without Rick And Morty,' Harmon said. 'Fortunately, the list of places to go remains infinite.'

'I couldn't be prouder to have taken this baton pass of a lifetime during Rick And Morty's fourth season and get us to Season ten.

'Getting to go beyond that now is such a gift I can't wait to give our fans. Rick And Morty – a hundred years – forever!'
