Barcelona have made a late enquiry over the possibility of signing Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani.
The 34-year-old striker only signed a new contract with United back in May after an impressive debut season at Old Trafford.
However, there has been speculation surrounding his future at the club since the shock announcement that Cristiano Ronaldo will be returning to the club after a 12-year absence.

Barcelona meanwhile are looking to sign a budget priced striker before the end of the transfer window.
The Catalan side have lost their main goal threat this summer with club legend Lionel Messi unable to sign a new deal with the club and joining Paris Saint-Germain.
With Barcelona's current financial crisis it could be tough for them to work out a deal for the Uruguayan international due to his high wages.

Currently he is earning around £250,000 per-week at Old Trafford and Manchester United themselves can't see the striker joining Barcelona by the end of the window.
Cavani joined United as a free agent at the end of his Paris Saint-Germain contract last season.
His signing made a big impact on the United team and he went on to score 17 goals in 39 appearances for the club.

With the addition of Ronaldo to a stacked United attacking line, it looks like Cavani will face a stern test to keep his place in the team this season.
Manchester United announced that they agreed a deal to sign the Portuguese superstar on Friday after previously looking like he might join rivals Man City.
He has since completed a medical and agreed personal terms, with United announcing they had officially completed the signing on Tuesday morning.
