'Drunk Jon Hamm insulted me about my age and I never forgave him' says Kathy Griffin in shocking confession

Kathy Griffin say she never forgave a 'wasted' Jon Hamm for making a crack about her age during a Hollywood dinner party.

The standup comic claims the 54-year-old Mad Men star sidled up to her while she was chatting with Jack Nicholson at a bash thrown by late talent agent Sue Mengers.

'Hammy was wasted, so he’s next to me in my ear and he’s going, "You’re so old. What’s it like to be so old? You know your Emmys are fake Emmys?" And I go, "No, Hammy, and you don’t even have an Emmy," and then I turned back to Jack who missed the whole thing, but I never forgave Hammy for that.'

The 65-year-old comedienne was speaking as a guest on Owen Thiele's In Your Dreams podcast this week, where she dished on the comments the 54-year-old actor once allegedly made to her.

She explained that actor Nicholson was 'talking about making the movie The Departed' when the Your Friends & Neighbors star approached her and insulted her age.

The Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Hamm and Griffin for comment.

Griffin said she had been particularly excited about her chat with Nicholson, 'who normally doesn’t talk about his work at all.'

She joked: 'He usually talks about who he's f**king, which is also interesting.'

The media personality said about the special moment: 'He's talking about playing a Whitey Bulger type character, and Whitey Bulger had just been found and arrested after decades of being on the run, and I’m thinking, "Oh my God, Jack Nicholson is talking about the one topic I would want to ask him about."'

But the exchange at the intimate gathering was soured by Hamm.

The story had to have taken place at least 15 years ago, as Mengers died at age 79 in 2011.

Despite not having won an Emmy at the time of his alleged run-in with Griffin, Hamm won his first one in 2015 for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series for Mad Men.

He was nominated for two other Emmys that year, after 13 previous losses.

Griffin's bitter memory of Hamm came up after host Thiele asked who was on her 'hit list' for 2026.

After naming Donald Trump as number one, she shifted her focus to the Fargo actor.

'I'll pick weird people like Jon Hamm,' she began, adding: 'Nobody hates Jon Hamm except me.'

She went on to reveal she 'used to date a guy that was in his fantasy football league, and I thought Hammy was rude to my boyfriend.'

'I just thought, ooh, that shows bad character,' she noted. Despite the dig, she credited the star as 'an amazing actor.'

Griffin added, 'I hate to admit it – he's even funny,' before Thiele interjected, 'And hot.'

The redhead comedienne agreed: 'And hot. Of course he's hot.'
