Despite releasing four films last year, including the box office flop Christy in November, Sweeney failed to nab any nominations at the Critics Choice Awards, SAG Actor Awards or Sunday's  Golden Globes, which will take place Sunday.

However, Sweeney's latest film The Housemaid, which hit theatres just before Christmas, is an undeniable box office hit.

The drama film, based off Fried McFadden's best-selling novel of the same name and starring Amanda Seyfreid, has made a reported $145million worldwide since its release three weeks ago.
