Inside the everyday but striking houses that sold in a day after being inundated with views
Homebuyers across the US may not be buying but they can't stop clicking.
Redfin has revealed the ten most popular homes that made people curious in 2025, and the results paint an interesting picture of what Americans really wanted in a home last year.
The winner was a stunning five-bedroom remodeled Spanish-style estate in Silicon Valley that went viral online. The home was viewed nearly 35,000 times in just one day before selling for $5.6 million — $740,000 over its $4.888 million listing price.
'These homes drew massive attention because they hit the sweet spot buyers are still chasing: they were well-located, move-in ready, and priced in a way that made people feel they had a real shot,' said Redfin's chief economist Daryl Fairweather.
'Even in a cooler housing market, buyers will swarm listings that offer perceived value — whether that's a renovated home in a high-cost area or a relatively affordable option in an expensive metro.
'When a home checks enough boxes, demand can ramp up quickly, and competition looks a lot more like the hot-market days than many people expect.'
Popularity was measured by dividing a listing's total number of online views by the number of days it was on the market before going under contract. For example, if a home was on the market for two days and got 10,000 views, it earned 5,000 views each day.
'2025's most popular home — 3717 Ortega Court in Palo Alto — is a prime example of sellers who were able to check all the boxes for a hungry pool of luxury buyers,' said Josh Felder, a Redfin Premier agent.
'Nestled in a serene cul-de-sac among grand luxury homes... this residence embodies craftsmanship, refinement, and timeless elegance,' the listing for 3717 Ortega Ct in Palo Alto says
11333 204th Ave NE, Redmond, WA. The listing says: Home Seekers, Investors, Builders, here is your very own private haven on an acre plus in a prime Redmond location
Chief economist at Redfin Daryl Fairweather
'The home hit the market in March, which was an extremely hot month for Palo Alto last year, with very little inventory and a lot of pent-up demand for homes in this prestigious neighborhood.
'Pair that with strategic pricing and marketing, and it's no surprise the listing attracted so much attention, and a buyer snagged it right away for well over asking.'
Rounding out the five most-popular homes were a tear-down in Berkeley, California, two affordable Seattle-area homes, and a historic Alexandria, Virginia, farmhouse sold by Vice President JD Vance.
Six of the 10 most popular listings closed for above their original asking price.
Buyers tended to favor competitively priced, upscale, renovated homes in desirable neighborhoods, usually with in-demand features like stainless steel appliances and backyards.
Today's buyers tend to have the upper hand and can often negotiate for concessions, but for in-demand homes in hot markets, that's not the case.
'Thousands of people — from serious buyers to daydreamers and looky-loos — visited these homes online to help them win Redfin's popularity contest,' said Yingqi Xu, a Redfin senior economist.
'But just one buyer gets to make a home their own. While bidding wars seem like a distant memory from the pandemic when rates were below three percent, this list shows that for the most desirable homes at attractive prices, there are plenty of interested buyers who are able and willing to go head-to-head and pay top dollar to win over the sellers.'

It's worth noting that a home's popularity depends on a lot of factors. Local advertising, population size, neighborhood, agent, time of year, competition and housing inventory all play a role in getting people's eyes on a listing.
Many sellers today are struggling to attract buyers as the market continues to price out nearly everyone, leaving a glut of sellers with homes they can't sell.
These homes drew massive attention because they hit the sweet spot buyers are still chasing. They were well-located, move-in ready, and priced in a way that made people feel they had a real shot.
Even in a rocky housing market, buyers will swarm listings that offer perceived value — whether that's a renovated home in a high-cost area or a relatively affordable option in an expensive metro.
And there are ways to increase your chances of snagging a sale, starting with getting more eyes on your listing.
Some proven methods to get attention include listing it on the MLS database, hiring a professional photographer, working with a great agent, pricing competitively and remaining open to concessions.
For sellers looking to close quickly, consider listing in spring, maximizing curb appeal, staging your home well and adding in-demand features.
