JD Vance opened up about the plans he and Second Lady Usha Vance have put together to choose the name of their baby boy, who is due later this year.

The Vice President sat down with the Daily Mail for an exclusive, wide-ranging interview on Tuesday, where he expressed excitement about welcoming his future son and the process of deciding on his name.

The second couple announced on January 20 that Usha is pregnant with a baby boy.

Usha, 40, is the first vice president's wife to fall pregnant since Schuyler Colfax's wife Ellen, who gave birth in April 1870 during Ulysses S. Grant's presidency.

'We've talked about a few names,' Vance told the Daily Mail on Tuesday while sitting inside his office at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington DC.

The Vice President then revealed that they do not plan on picking a name for their fourth child until after the baby is born.

The couple have three other children, including two boys named Ewan, 8, and Vivek, 6, as well as their daughter four-year-old Mirabel.

'We're working on it, but, you know, with all three of our kids, we actually didn't settle on their names until after they were born, which is, I think, pretty unusual,' Vance said.

'Most people choose a name. Well, before the kid is born,' Vance continued. 'I think Usha and I have never just found a name where it's like, "Alright, this is what we want to name our kid."

'And so we always wait to meet them and settle on the names from there.'

The Vances met at Yale Law School and married in 2014 before having their eldest son in 2017.

Vance and Usha attended the same classes at Yale before they started dating.

The future VP was so infatuated that he told her that he loved her after their first college date, according to his memoir Hillbilly Elegy.

In the book, Vance referred to Usha as his 'Yale spirit guide' as she was able to help him navigate the elite Ivy League culture.

Vance grew up in boondocks of Ohio from a poor working-class family. Usha is the daughter of Indian immigrants.

Vance has described his feelings during their dating phase as 'overwhelming.'

The couple's friends and even their old law school professor noted that he was visibly 'lovesick' by Usha.

The couple currently reside with their young family at the Naval Observatory in Washington, DC.

Vance previously split his time between DC and his family's home in Cincinnati when he was a Republican senator.
