Kash Patel has been slammed for appearing on a podcast with his girlfriend as a manhunt for the Brown University shooter entered its fourth day.
The FBI director is under fire after he announced prematurely that his agents had helped apprehend a suspect in the shooting that left two dead and nine injured at the Ivy League school in Providence, Rhode Island, on Saturday.
And now a teaser clip of conservative podcaster Katie Miller, wife of Trump adviser Stephen Miller, asking the FBI director and his girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, about their romance is going viral.
A representative for Miller's podcast told the Daily Mail that the interview was filmed before the mass shooting.
But social media erupted at Patel over the sit-down chat with his 27-year-old country music star girlfriend, calling the FBI boss a 'bumbling bonehead'.
'Patel, when he's not detaining the wrong shooter, is busy doing podcast appearances with the girlfriend he deploys FBI resources and private jets for,' said one commentator on X.
'The Brown University shooter is still at large. Seriously, fire his ass.'
During the interview, Patel gushed about dating Wilkins and addressed spurious claims that she is a 'Mossad agent.'

At one point, Miller jokingly asked Wilkins to confirm whether or not she's Jewish or from Israel. Wilkins replied no to both questions.
'So how did we get to, "Are you a Mossad agent?" Miller asked the couple.
'You know, that's a great question,' Wilkins replies.
Later on, Miller teases a bashful Patel over why he has not married his longtime girlfriend.
'Where's her ring?' Miller blurts out, leading to laughter from the couple. Patel and Wilkins have been dating since January 2023.
The timing of the soon-to-be released interview occurs as the FBI struggles to find a suspect this weekend's brutal killing.

A gunman opened fire during a review session for an introductory economics final exam at around 4pm on Saturday.
He killed two students, Ella Cook, 19, vice president of the Ivy League school's Republican club, and American-Uzbek neuroscientist Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, 18. Nine other students were injured in the attack.
