A highly requested sauce is making a much-awaited comeback at McDonald's Australia stores - and the re-launch will see the condiment feature in a whole new, first-of-its-kind burger menu range.

Starting on Wednesday, April 15, the fast food giant will welcome back its popular Dunked Korean Sticky BBQ sauce, last enjoyed by diners in December 2024.

The sweet and spicy sauce was a hit when it previously appeared on the Macca's official menu two years earlier.

This time, though, the sauce is more than just a condiment - it's also the hero ingredient in two brand-new crispy chicken burgers that are unlike anything seen on the menu before.

The Dunked Korean Sticky BBQ chicken burger range includes an upgraded McCrispy and McSpicy, both containing a chicken fillet that has been thoroughly dunked, drenched and coated in the distinctive sauce. The result? A saucier chicken burger than ever before.

The Dunked Korean Sticky BBQ McCrispy levels up the original by generously dunking its 100 per cent Aussie chicken breast in the rich, sticky Korean BBQ sauce, then pairing it with fresh lettuce, creamy mayo and serving it in a toasted potato bun.

Meanwhile, the Dunked Korean Sticky BBQ McSpicy offers all the usual trimmings – fresh lettuce, creamy mayo and a sesame seed bun – but adds a piece of 100 per cent Aussie chicken dunked in a slightly spicier Korean sticky BBQ sauce.

McDonald's Australia's Chief Marketing Officer Annabel Fribence confirmed the new Dunked Korean Sticky BBQ Chicken Range 'marks the next chapter' in the evolution of their menu.

'We're known for being the home of sauce, and we're taking that one step further by fully dunking the chicken fillet in sauce – a first for Macca's,' she explained.

'It delivers a completely new burger experience as we continue pushing the boundaries of what customers expect from us.'

This extra-saucy burger range is designed to deliver maximum flavour and sauce in every bite.

But for those who prefer to keep their sweet and smoky Korean Sticky BBQ sauce on the side, it will still be on the menu as a standalone dipping sauce.

Annabel added, 'Bringing back Korean Sticky BBQ, one of Australia's most requested sauces, and delivering even more of it in every bite with Dunked is something we know Aussies are going to love.'

The Dunked range can be ordered via drive-thru, front counter, and the MyMacca's app nationwide from Wednesday, April 15.
