Then she talked about her son's journey.
Her kids gave speeches during her wedding to Jeff Bezos last June and one of her sons, Evan Whitesell, who has dyslexia as well, talked about an experience that was 'extremely important to him.' Sanchez added that she had 'no idea what he was going to say.'

Sanchez nearly cried as she shared the story of how her son, in the fourth grade, told himself he could do it when he was struggling to spell in class.
She added that it was the 'most meaningful and impactful moment at my wedding... besides getting married to Jeff,' she laughed.
And now she has said that Evan saying 'I can do it' has inspired her so much that she has a sign in her home with those words.
Sanchez added that her daughter, Ella Whitesell, who is the artist in the family, will go to college soon.
The star also said she does not like the term Empty Nester and has a new saying: 'Egg Launcher or maybe Bird Launcher is a little better,' she said.
She also has a son, Nikko Gonzalez, with ex Anthony David Gonzalez, a former football star.
While on the couch talking about her second book, The Fly Who Flew Under The Sea, Sanchez said: 'I want to remind parents to read to their kids.
'Because if you just take ten minutes, you release what is called Oxytocin and your child releases it... It's so important.'

Before she sat down with Today, Sanchez had found a clever way to promote her new book on the day of its release.
She carried a white handbag with the cover of her tome on the front. The purse was also stylish with a bamboo handle.
The former TV star wore a form-fitting, belted white skirt suit with a bow on the jacket, pockets in front and long sleeves.
The skirt portion fell to her calves and had a flirty ruffle on the hem. Sanchez styled it with pointy white Louboutin heels that complemented her toned and tanned legs.
For added glamour, she wore black round sunglasses even though it was raining.
The Fly Who Flew Under the Sea is a children's book by Sanchez and illustrated by Raleigh Stewart.
The book is about a fly named Flynn who takes a wrong turn on the way to Cape Canaveral and ends up on an undersea adventure, learning to see mistakes as opportunities for discovery.
The star also went into detail about how Vogue honcho Anna Wintour called her and Jeff Bezos to ask them to host the Met Gala and be the sponsors this year
The tale encourages curiosity, resilience, and appreciation for the planet, featuring ocean wonders such as coral reefs and a giant squid, and includes STEM elements, including an undersea glossary.
In 2024, the star released her first children's book, The Fly Who Flew To Space, which became a best-seller.
Sanchez wed Amazon founder Bezos at a private venue in Venice last June.
Their wedding brought together a guest list of more than 200 people, including some of the world’s most high-profile names.
The ceremony, reported to have cost around $50 million, attracted global media attention and saw the presence of celebrities such as Sir Mick Jagger, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sydney Sweeney, Jerry Seinfeld, Orlando Bloom, Jessica Alba, Bill Gates, Brooks Nader and Ivanka Trump.
Members of the Kardashian-Jenner family were also in attendance, including Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner.
