Awards season is all about debuting new looks - and Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus shocked their fans when they both showed off their baby bangs at the 2025 Oscars.
This wasn't Miley's first controversial cut this year.
The Can't Be Tamed singer arrived at the 2025 Grammys with a jellyfish haircut, which showcases blunt, chin-length face-framing pieces and longer hair.
Miley, 32, surprised her fans yet again on Sunday night at the 97th Academy Awards when she changed up her hairdo for the exclusive Vanity Fair after party in Beverly Hills, showing off brand new super short bangs and a slicked back ponytail.
Miley received a quick trim courtesy of hair stylist Bob Recine.
The famed hairstylist quickly chopped her micro bangs right before she hit the star-studded party.
Fittingly, Bob, who also styles Chloe Sevigny and Kaia Gerber, was also behind Miley's equal contentious jellyfish cut.
FEMAIL reached out to a celebrity hairstylist to find out if the hairstyle works in real life or just on the Academy Awards red carpet.

Fans on X (previously Twitter) called the Hannah Montana alum's quick cut 'iconic' and 'so Miley coded.'
The polarizing style received some pushback as one viewer tweeted, 'Why are some Smilers confidently lying about Miley's bangs looking good?? Like no it doesn't,' before calling the Flowers singer a 'flop.'
Katy, 40, debuted a similar set of bangs when she hit the red carpet at the star-studded Vanity Fair Oscar Party alongside fiancé Orlando Bloom.
Not everyone appreciated Katy's new 'do, with people on Twitter comparing it to Courteney Cox's '90s hairstyle.
'Why's Katy looking like that?' one person tweeted.
Another shouted, 'KATY PERRY STOP WITH THE MICRO BANGS!'
Celebrity hairstylist Mia Santiago warned DailyMail.com, 'Micro bangs are super tricky because they can make the face look wide.'
Mia, who works with stars including Martha Stewart, Dove Cameron and Mariska Hargitay explained that it's unfortunately rarely a flattering cut.
'If you already have a round or square shaped face, it tends to shorten the face and make it look wider,' Mia advised.
Katy attended the dazzling party on the arm of her fiancé, Pirates Of The Caribbean star Orlando Bloom

It's also an incredibly difficult hairstyle for people with textured locks, because Mia said 'micro bangs can be a challenge to style' and 'hard to maintain.'
However, it's not a no for everyone.
'Micro bangs can be flattering to longer faces,' Mia said.
Expect to see more teeny tiny fringe this year.
'I do feel like it's an edgy, bold hair statement and will big in 2025,' the star hairstylist predicted.
