Emmerdale's Cain Dingle tried bedding his pregnant cousin Charity in incestuous scenes - with viewers left horrified.

The soap legend - played by Jeff Hordley - has been battling prostate cancer in recent months, but pushing his loved ones away.

Cain's wife Moira (Natalie J. Robb) is wrongfully in prison after two bodies were discovered buried on the couple's land.

In the midst of this, he propositioned Charity (Emma Atkins) in an attempt to sleep with her.

The cousins previously had an incestuous relationship in their teens - resulting in the birth of daughter Debbie (Charley Webb).

At the Dingle family home, an uncomfortable interaction saw Cain try to prove to Charity that he was the 'best' she'd ever had.

He asked Charity about her sex life and subsequently boasted about their time together.

However, she insisted that her 'best' was actually ex-partner Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).

Cain went on to tell her: 'It is just you and me here right now, why don't I prove to you that I've still got it.

'I am actually being serious. And if you really wanna help me, you know what to do.'

Seemingly playing along, Charity replied: 'Okay, where do you wanna do it?

'We could do it on the sofa, maybe we could just rag each other around the room.

'Smash the place up a bit – it wouldn't be the first time!'

Cain then got up and approached Charity as he said: 'Shut up and come over here.'

She then answered: 'Cain, I love it when you talk to me like that! Let's do it!'

However, this was soon revealed as a ruse, with Charity having no interest in bedding Cain.

Instead, she simply asked about his intentions and was even able to break down his walls amid the difficult cancer battle.

One viewer wrote: 'As funny as it was that Charity said Vanessa it was also incredibly important in this moment.

'Cain is worried about his sexual performance once he has had prostate surgery and is pushing people away. Charity reassured him that intimacy comes in many forms.'

Another added: 'Cain tryna convince Charity he was better than Vanessa to her was actually the funniest thing ever #emmerdale.'

A third chimed in: 'It's one of Emmerdale's boring 'two header' episodes today. Cain and Charity. I turned off after five minutes.'

These scenes came as Charity is pregnant with what is believed to be her and Cain's grandchild.

Their granddaughter Sarah's (Katie Hill) health issues mean she cannot naturally conceive, so Charity is acting as a surrogate.

But unbeknown to many, the baby is actually Charity's and her ex-partner Ross Barton (Michael Parr), who she had a fling with.

It comes as Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh gave birth to her second child with her EastEnders actor husband Toby-Alexander Smith.

The star, 38, who plays Tracy Metcalfe in the ITV soap, took to Instagram to announce the news and shared the first picture of her daughter.

She shared a sweet black and white photo of her baby daughter’s feet, after dressing her in a cute baby grow with flowers on it.

Her sister, Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh was among the first to send a congratulatory message.

Amy and Toby-Alexander, 34, are already parents to their daughter Bonnie, who they welcomed in 2022.

Amy revealed the news of her second pregnancy on Instagram in September, with a video that saw Toby, Amy and Bonnie removing their hands from a frame to reveal a baby scan photo.

The audio of the clip was of Amy announcing to Bonnie that she's going to soon have a little brother or sister.

Amy penned alongside the post: 'Smith/Walsh baby 2.0 incoming 2026.'

Amy and Toby-Alexander tied the knot after three years together in an idyllic ceremony at the Talici Hill Rustic Villa in Montenegro in 2023.

Amy met EastEnders star Toby-Alexander, 34, in the audience of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 and the pair struck up a relationship a year later.

Two years later, Amy welcomed daughter Bonnie Mae with him.

Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
