The newlyweds of Married at First Sight celebrated one month in the experiment on Tuesday.
And the milestone moment came with heartache for groom Grayson McIvor, who has been hoping for sparks to fly with bride Julia Vogl for four weeks.
The controversial former journalist, 35, used the couple's anniversary to write an 'authentic' letter about their relationship - which confirmed the groom's worst fears.
At first, Grayson, 35, admitted he was excited by Julia's effort to put her feelings down on paper in such an intimate way.
'When Julia does nice things like this, there are little butterflies, and I get excited,' he said, before he heard what his wife had to say
Sitting together in their apartment, Julia read off a pad, beginning: 'What a wild ride this has been.

'It feels like I've known you for years, and it's only been a month.'
She continued: 'I chose to participate in this experiment to find a deep, soul connection with someone.
'We have grown so much separately and together, and I have seen you lean in to [it], and I have to with everything I have.
'However, that burning desire we have both spoken about doesn't seem to be growing.
'Our moments of true connection have been fleeting despite us making progress in many ways and at this stage a flame of mutual chemistry has not been ignited, and I don't want to force anything
'I must choose myself, I must listen to my intuition.'
Surprised by Julia's declaration, Grayson appeared to take the news in his stride.
'Thanks for being open and for taking the time to write that,' he began, adding: 'I'm sad I came here to fall in love with someone.'
'I must choose myself, I must listen to my intuition,' she said
An angry Grayson told her that she had wasted his time - an accusation she rejected
He then accused Julia of not putting herself completely into the experiment.
'I just don't feel like the effort has been met... help me understand why this hasn't happened for us.'
Julia, who uncharacteristically appeared flustered, quickly regained her cool and replied: 'Relationships and connections are incredibly personal and nuanced and that burning desire that we keep discussing just isn't there for me.'
An angry Grayson told her that she had wasted his time - an accusation she rejected.
Reflecting afterwards, she admitted that she did not have romantic feelings for her husband which meant Grayson would never be her 'forever person'.
'I'm so disappointed, I care about her a lot,' an emotional Grayson said later.
Speaking to Daily Mail Julia insisted she was simply being 'honest and authentic' when she chose emotional connection over physical chemistry.
'I think it is really unrealistic to expect me to prance around in lingerie at that point,' she said bluntly, referring to her controversial Intimacy Week task.
'We hadn't even kissed. I don't think we should expect women to jump into bed with someone, just because we're married.'
